The only vaccination that you are obliged to have when entering Nicaragua is protection against Yellow fever, but travelers are also recommended to vaccinate against hepatitis A and typhoid fever. Remember to start your vaccinations in good time before your departure since some of them require more than one injection.

By changing your diet it is always possible that you will be effected by a smaller stomach upset but there are a few things you can bear in mind to prevent your holiday from being ruined because of illness.

•  By bottled water and bring purifying tablets in case you get stuck in rural areas.

•  Avoid uncooked food and bying from for example street vendors were you are unsure about the hygiene.

•  Don't leave your food unattended since flies are numerous and might spread diseases.

Because Nicaragua is closer to the equator than many of the northern countries it is not even warmer but you will as well burn faster since the angle of the sun's rays is more direct. Bring a lot of sunscreen, wear covering clothes, a hat and don't forget to drink a lot of water.
