Nicaragua - Country of lakes and volcanoes

San Juan River

The River San Juan stretches from Lago de Nicaragua to the Atlantic coast in the east and separates Nicaragua from Costa Rica in the south, although the river itself is considered Nicaraguan territory. The 90 km long river runs through deep jungles, is part of the Indio Maiz Biological Reserve and is the best part in Nicaragua for wildlife watching.
