Laguna de Apoyo

This small lake 10 kilometers north of Granada is actually created inside the crater of the Volcan Apoyo. At its deepest it measures 200 meters, which as well is the lowest point in entire Central America. This gives the water an incredibly colour and a cool temperature. Inside the crater, at the water's edge there are several tourist facilities and the possibility of swimming. The surrounding forest is good for hiking and you can expect to encounter various species of birds, monkeys and butterflies.
